Mean level (1-10): 7 (This isn't my first post. Has anyone ever been fired because of a blog?)

Hmmm .. there was this Microsoft guy ... now that I think of it :)

I am not so sure that we all work with stupid people anymore. I guess if you want to look at it that way you can, and it does make us feel better like we are actually smarter.

But let me share the flip side for you. Imagine instead of these people just being stupid, that they are just of a different caliber of skill than we "super-geniuses" are custom to.

Now that everyone is just different and good and one thing were they are not in another we come to the issue of pride.

Pride is often the project killer. When someone wants to micro-manage or when someone will not let someone do something that is for the good of the company and has the proper skills to validate the facts provided. This is when you run into the fellow employees that are not keeping the company's best interest in mind.

Mostly, it is all about I, I, I, and me, me, me. We must step down from our thrones of knowledge and walk among the mortals and give of ourselves to the better cause of the whole.

However, when politics becomes the focus point of any project, the project is sure to fail.

Politics can destroy a project faster than non-funding ever could. In most cases, it would be better for the project not to be done at all if political issues become the key factor in the decision making for the scope and justification of the project.

Wish I'd seen it before it was removed!
