02/13/2006 The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 Got stuck in a snow bank. The second run took 20 minutes to get unstuck. I have not received any email, but the shuttles were out there. The plowing of the streets however seem to have been overwhelmed.
01/09/2006 The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 did not show. Also, the ridership has informed me that we have lost another driver. Jackie, the Route 1 driver is no longer with us. Please see the comments below. While consistent, reliable service is our #1 goal, driver retention is part of that goal.
01/05/2006 The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-04 did not show. I suspect after speaking with the route 1 driver (since she picked up the passengers on Valley Road) that Route 2 did not run at all this morning.
01/04/2006 The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 was 15 minutes late
01/03/2006 The Route 1 Shuttle, All Morning Bus Trip did not show. I have no news about the evening runs.
12/21/2005 The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 to Orange Station (5:17PM), did not show. When the five of us made accomodations to get rides home, we saw the West Orange Shuttle heading to the Orange station at 5:35. Amazingly the train was about 5 minutes early and we were out there for about 20+ minutes. It was cold. (yeah I know, boo hoo)
12/21/2005 More of an FYI than a complaint. Mildred the dispathcer has spoken with the town and they will be making sure that the first run out of Orange does both Routes 1 & 2. Mildred left both myself and the other rider a voice mail. I know it's tough with the Transit strike, but the bumps in our road are getting smoother, and we need to continue to strive to cooperate with the Township, our drivers and the occupational Center (Mildred I believe). The township even updated the hotline message! If I don't hear from anyone else this week Have a happy Holiday! I'm off next week! 8-)
12/20/2005 The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 from Orange Station (5:17PM), Rider was told to get off the shuttle at the Orange train station and had to find her own way home. It appears that this happened again, and this time elevated in to a shouting match between the driver and the rider. The incident was witnessed by 4 other riders. The driver is doing what she is instructed, but it is the management that is wrong and (how the driver handled the situation as well). The driver even called and contacted her supervisor and got instruction from them. Because of the incident the driver told the rider that she was not moving the bus, so the other 4 riders did not get their trip home and had to wait for the second run, which I was on.
12/19/2005 The Route 1&2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 from Orange Station (5:17PM), Rider was told to get off the shuttle in the Valley when they live on Upper Lawrence. It appears there is some confusion with the driver and the occupational center. The first shuttle out of Orange is suppose to do routes 1 & 2. Te driver was adamant that she is only suppose to do Route #1. Expecting the driver to come back up the hill, they left the rider in the Valley instead.
12/14/2005 The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 1-06 to S.Orange Station (8:22 AM), was 10 minutes late and missed the train

12/09/2005 The Route 1, 2, 3 AM Shuttle Runs were all canceled due to snow. Roads were not plowed.
12/08/2005 The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-04 to Orange Station (7:34AM), was 3-4 minutes early
12/05/2005 The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 at Orange Station (5:17PM), was over 15 minutes late
12/05/2005 The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 1-04 at Forest Hill and Dartmouth (7:17AM), did not show

11/28-30/2005 The early shuttle run out of Orange 5:17 12-01 is not meeting the train. There seems to be some confusion, however when I took the 5:17 on Friday, the drivers seemed to have been told. It would be nice however to get some confirmation on this.
11/28/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip _____ ( ____ South Orange), New driver and did not know the route. Was directed by a rider through a route that covered Route 1 & 2. This is what James did to accomodate Riders wehn Kim was unavailable. Kate Please email me the time of that shuttle. I assume they didn't know the route all night however.
11/22/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 (5:14 Orange), was late. There seems to be some confusion as to when the shuttles are to meet the evening trains.
11/22/2005: The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-04 (7:10AM - OakRidge & Mitchell), was 7 minutes ahaead of schedule. The riders got out 8 minutes early today. They asked the driver to wait and she did for a minute, and then continued on the route.
11/21/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 (5:14 Orange), did not show up. was late and we made other arrangements to get home, so we could not confirm if the shuttle made it. Speaking with Maria on 11/22, she said she got there there was no one.
11/21/2005: The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-04 (7:10AM - OakRidge & Mitchell), did not show up. was a full 5 minutes ahaead of schedule. The ridership community told the driver to wait until they were back on schedule, unfortunatley some riders missed the shuttle early in the route. Riders, please be out 5 to 10 minutes ahead of the scheduled time to allow for errors.
11/18/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 1-03 (5:45 Orange), show up late, but it did show up. Maria was not left keys for the township shuttle. She did show above and beyond responsibilty to obtain another bus from the town to meet us, Unfortunately 2 of our riders took off to walk...and it was cold...70 to 30 is not easy to get used to in a 1 day swing. Begs the question, where is the responsibility of the Service if no one is avaliable in the evening if there is a break down. Thank you Maria!
11/17/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 1-04 (7:18AM - Forrest Hill & Gregory), did not show up.
11/17/2005: The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-04 (7:14AM - Walker & Gregory), did not show up.
11/16/2005: The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-03 (5:51 - South Orange), did not show up.
11/16/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 1-02 & 1-06 (8:06 - Bradford and Collamore), did not show up. Rider comments that the driver said the got lost on the earlier run, and never showed for the third run. Riders also comments that the bus smells like an ashtray.
11/15/2005: The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-07 (6:45 South Orange) From Linda and Kaz; Oakridge Road. The Bus appeared late (how late?) and the driver appeared to be under the influence of something and was extremely agitated. From Daniella: The driver was very disoriented and drove about 2 miles an hour. He did not seem to know where to stop and was talking on his cell phone for part of the trip. Multiple Riders also comment the the bus smells like smoke.
11/15/2005: The Route 2 Shuttle, Bus Trip 2-03 & 2:05 (5:51 & 6:22 South Orange), did not show up. Addendum: From Linda and Kaz; Oakridge Road. The Bus appeared late (how late?) and the driver appeared to be under the influence of something and was extremely agitated.
11/15/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 12-01 & 1-03 (5:14/5:45 Orange), did not show up. That means 2 different drivers did not show up for this run.
11/14/2005: The Route 1 Shuttle, Bus Trip 1-06 (8:06 - Bradford and Collamore), did not show up. I suspect all trips did not show. James showed up in the eveing with his Car for the 2nd Orange station run. The Occupational Center told him to hand in his keys instead of making the run. James personally took riders home last night with his own car.

re: W.O.Ridership Community Historical Comment Log The woman who covers route #1 in the morning is an excellent driver and is very prompt. She has been asking people to get on only at the assigned pick up spots as she is instructed by her management. The corner I get picked up at is Cobane and Bradford as appears online and on all printed schedules over the years. Yesterday the driver mentioned that this was not a stop and we ought to wait for her at Bradford & Gilbert despite what they had always advertised. She called in to her manager Ms. Mildred when we showed her one of the printed schedules and brought the discrepancy to her attention. No further information about the stop was provided. This morning we all waited at our usual corner on Cobane but the driver passed up by and stopped at Gilbert. She waited for us to walk up the hill and let us know that this was our new pick up spot. I would like to mention she greeted me with a 'good morning' and was not antagonistic in any way, we understand she is simply doing what she was asked by her management. She handed us a new schedule with the new stop posted as Gilbert & Bradford. The schedule is dated effective 1-15-06. This is the first I've seen of the new schedule and if this location change was made public I have no problem walking the extra block. It just seems odd to suddenly move the scheduled stop up the hill and away from a level street that all the riders live on and have used for years. Did anyone see this version of the schedule previous to this morning? Did another rider request the change to be made? I will also point out that Ms. Mildred is the same woman that had been managing the West Orange Jitney service previous to the changes that were recently made. Is this the same group running the Jitney with new drivers? I though this was whole new company taking over. Does anyone have any info on this? Thank you. |
