Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick?
At first I thought it was a Suzuki...
I was like, Damn they left their suzuki in a taxi...wait, let me read that again..So this is what it is
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000A0AZC/103-5355719-0187859?v=glance&n=301185
In my opinion, people are going too crazy with these things...don't they know they are becoming automoton slaves?
In any event Graz posted this link in the corral. I'd figure I'd add to the mayhem

EDIT: 6/13/2006 Ok, who wouldn't have guessed where this was going
“WHAT THE HELL? So she SOLD our Sidekick... After we had contacted her. So either that's why she needed the money, to buy it BACK, or she was faking all along and never intended to give it back. And now she is going to SUE me after selling someone else's property? “
I should start a prognastication business. I guessing he would like his anonymity back right about now.
EDIT: 6/13/2006 13:30: OK, this even gets better. The reason they were so frantic to get the phone back is because they were in communication with the Russian consulat trying to get her sister a visa so she could come to the united states so she could be the maid of honor. As she is getting married THIS WEEKEND. ????? GIVE ME A BREAK. They planned this within 1 week of the wedding. This has all the truth of “I did not have sexual relations with that woman....“ Oh please...make the insanity stop.
EDIT: 6/14/2006: This is great:
” I received a call in the middle of the night saying that the family was INDEED pursuing a harassment case against me. Whether or not they have a case is irrelevant. Anyone can sue someone now a days for anything. So, I removed the contents of this website. I am protecting myself as ANY of you would do for yourself. Now... I don't want you to see this as caving in or admitting guilt. “
Sure...maybe seeing in the error of your ways now...and followed by:
“I am leaving the forum link up for people to discuss. Please remember that this is a public forum. The owner of the forum, the moderators, and I are NOT responsible for content posted on it. Please make sure to read the rules before you post.“
Well, if he's not responsible, then who is? And the following is showing the realization of his actions:
Thank you for all your support guys. I did this to wrong a right. I hope I don't get crucified for trying to be moral in an immoral world.
An Immoral world? Who is this guy? Does he really think that the world is on his case? The ONLY blog that I've seen speaking out against his actions is here. The rest has been the world “backing“ his insane quest with mob rule justice. I hope he get's taken to the cleaners. Oh and BTW, I believe the phrase is “to Right a wrong“. What a moron.

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? Aw, c'mon Brett! You're not that much of a throwback are you? I thought you kept up with the times. ;) I had a friend who had a Suzuki Sidekick. We used to call it "The Suzuki Rollover" but that's a different story. On the T-Mobile Sidekick, the swivel screen is a slick invention, although I wonder if after a bit of use that sucker may just snap off one day. Unfortunately, the last I checked, it does not synchronize with Outlook which is a necessity for me. So, I've still got my Blackberry, but eyeballing the Treo 700w or maybe the Pocket PC 6700 (several carriers, slide-out keyboard). |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? No he's looking for an "intern" (obviously a non-paying job) and is accepting "donations". Man, this has SCAM written ALL over it |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? OK, so his link finally worked...so much for him being a homeless whiteboy "I was born in 1975 in Manhattan and raised in Greenwich, CT. I left home at the early age of 14 and moved to NY. I lived in Brooklyn, Queens, Switzerland, England, and Israel...though not in that particular order. At the age of 19-20 I moved to Battery Park City in Manhattan and started working in Wall St. I lived there for the next 7 years designing the market data and trading technologies for places like CIBC Oppenheimer, Bankers Trust, and on the floor of the American Stock Exchange. After surviving 9-11, I wandered about a bit trying to find myself. On Jan 25th of this year, I moved to Miami, FL. I still go back to NYC about twice a month for business and to visit friends. " After surviving 9/11...give me a break...he's got pictures clear on the other side of the island from his apartment...down by south street...where my sister-in-law lives I'm sure it was very frightening, but it was not ground zero by any stretch... The more I look, the more more I become incensed.... The responsible thing to do would be to shut off the phone, call the police handle the matter privately He's already had one bozo confront the people...his actions are aking to yelling "fire" in a crowded theatre... Someone please take the internet toy away from the baby so he doesn't hurt himself |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? Brett, Stop crying...whether you like it or not he's posted a public site. He's also getting the hits, no one is forcing you to comment or go to his site. Yet you insist to bi*** bi*** bi***. If you didn't care a lick about it why are you on here complaining so much. |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? Brett, I didn't really read his rant. A few lines into it, I got bored. But from your description, and the little I did read, I have to agree that it sounds like he's turning this mole hill into a mountain. The only justification I could see for making this any bigger of a deal than "shut it down, get a new one" is that he has a bunch of data in it that he "needs". But that just reinforces my point of view that the biggest drawback to the Sidekick is that I can't sync it with the rest of my stuff. And anyway, any of his REAL friends or business contacts would understand him having to get their contact info back, and if he missed an appointment because he lost his gadget. And if they have any sort of a relationship other than swapping IMs, he will bump into them regularaly, or know how to track them down. As for you railing against technology, hey I understand. I have no interest in being connected 24/7 and fielding emails all the time. I'm not so interested in the email/web capabilities as I am having all my contact and schedule info with me whenever I might need it and a good human interface for editing while I'm away from the desk. AND a means of keeping my desktop and portable device in sync so I'm not futzing with two different systems. |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? Hey Jon, Thanks for reading. Too bad you don't get the point. I personally believe he is breaking the law in what he is doing, and I just hope it doesn't end in tragedy. If anything does happen I would assume that he must be held liable for anything that occurs. MOO |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? This is great...they guy says he finally wen to the Police and they told hime the matter was closed because it was lost property. What was very cool is because he had paperwork from his "new police buddy" that he shouldn't have, because it is a crime to remove offical police paperwork. If I were the other people I would get a restraining order filled out against this nut. |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? If you read the NYT article AWAKE you'd realize they DONT think hes a nut job. It was a quote from a google group forum, and the quote said "IF". The word if doesn't imply he is wrong. I think he is doing whats right, they stole his friends sidekick, he wants it back, so hes going to embarass the living hell out of them until they return it. And rightfully so, you'd do the same exact thing if it had happened to you. |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? Well after all the moaning and groaning, they finally contact the police and they handled the matter....which is what they should have done day 1. So this Friday morning he will be on TV...so munch for not wanting publicity. The whole thing was a stunt and he should have let the police handle it anyway. And also, if you believe what you read in a blog without making some sound judgements, then I have a bridge for Sale in Brooklyn. Also, it very may well be that Good Morning America is having him on to reveal the entire hoax. |

re: Sidekick? What the hell is a sidekick? Good Lord, Now after to trying to scam an EBAY auction, and collect a percentage, somone posted a final fake bid and won't pay up. Now he's threatening the world and claiming the the poor children's charity he was going to donate the money forwill have to go without it...not to mention his chunk of tax free change...so what is the deal with ebay if you bid and don't pay up...I think all you do is get banned. He's looking for vengance again. Some of those neurons don't fire properly in this guy |
