Women in Tech @ PASS 2006

The Professional Association for SQL Server (PASS) 2006 Community Summit is less than two months away. As Program Committee manager for this year's conference, I'm very pleased with how our schedule of speakers and sessions has shaped up. If you haven't decided to attend yet, go to the web site and check out the breadth and depth of topics and speakers. I think you'll be convinced.

One event that I'd like to highlight is the Women in Technology panel discussion and luncheon. This will be the 4th year for this event. The discussion is always interesting and lively, and I think this year will be no exception.

The topic is "Stepping Up, Showing the Way: Developing Women as Leaders in IT". The panel features several women who have achieved positions of leadership in their fields. I'm looking forward to hearing their perspectives on what it takes to be a leader in IT. I'm also looking forward to the interesting contributions that are always offered by the attendees.

This event is open to anyone attending the Summit. If you have ever wondered "what goes on at those WIT things anyway?" come and find out. If you have women on your team or work with women in other groups, come and learn a little bit about what we encounter in our shared field. And if you are a woman attending the Summit, come learn, offer your experiences, be inspired by others, and network and meet other women who do what you do.

(If you do plan to attend, please indicate that when you build your Personal Itinerary. That will give us an idea of how many people to expect.)
