Best of the PASS Community Summit 2007
Year in and year out, the week of the PASS Community Summit is one of the highlights of my professional life. There are a lot of good things about the Summit, far too many for me to enumerate here. Maybe I'll consider that as a topic for a future post.
However, too much of a good thing can be bad, or at least inconvenient. As a member of the PASS Board of Directors, I am typically so busy at the Summit that I have little time to actually sit down and enjoy a presentation that someone else has worked so tirelessly to create. And even if I do manage to carve out a time slot or two to sit in a session, there are usually nine other sessions going on at the same time - many of which I'd like to attend as well.
That's why I'm excited about having the Summit's content available to me in an electronic format after the fact. All attendees of this year's Summit have access to the session recordings - audio and screen captures - in a really high resolution format.
Now I can go on-line to view the sessions I may have missed or felt were not as applicable for me at the time. There are also DVD's available if you prefer that method. I just received my DVD's and I'm looking forward to getting back into the sessions I missed. (I "enjoy" a satellite internet connection at home so the DVD's are far more convenient for me.)
By the way, PASS has released a list of the best sessions as ranked by those who attended them. I'm working my way down the list.
Cheers!
