I spent half my weekend in training.  But not the kind that most people reading this would think of.  This was what I'll refer to as Entrepreneur School.  Training on being a better self-employed business person.  In this case I was listening to a very successful (and very wealthy) man for whom I have a great amount of respect because he is incredibly successful not just in business but also in his family.

He said a couple of things that really stuck in my brain, and I thought I'd share them with you.  The first one will probably be considered near blasphemy by many of you, but if you'll stop and think about it, you'll see the truth in it.  Here it is:  “The people who understand the technology usually end up working for the people who understand the trends.”  (I hope I don't have to point out to you which one of these makes more money.)

And a few other quotes to ponder...  “The number one most common quality of successful people is optimism.”  and “Most people convince themselves that what they do is significant when it really isn't.”
