Tonight at the Blogger Meetup
Went to another Blogger Meetup tonight. Couldn't stay very long, but it was good to re-connect with Anita, Jake, and Eric. Eric is getting a taste of the joys of being a freelance computer guy, including the thrills associated with the client making radical changes to the project over the weekend.
It was also to meet a few new folks like Charles Redmond (recently returned/retired to the Seattle area) and Scott Koon (a.k.a. Lazycoder). Sounds like Scott and I may have interviewed for the same job a year ago. I was looking for work after a 4-month unexpected vacation, and had an interview at The Hutch (Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center). I think that would have been pretty cool, being that I'm a cancer survivor. I don't know how far I could have gotten because after the first interview I did some soul searching and decided at that time I really wanted to stay independent rather than become an employee, and I withdrew my name from consideration. Looks like they got a good guy in Scott.
