Sounds like a headline from The Onion doesn't it ?
Something I've mentioned once or twice is my annoyance at people who use the GUI tools that Microsoft supply as an excuse to not know what is actually going along behind the scenes. Then when they hit the brick wall they were heading for by not understanding their toolkit, they rant and rave about how Microsoft is crap, or SQL Server is crap, or HTML is crap, or whatever it is they don't get.

re: Area man blames tools for own lack of knowledge. While I was ranting about GO not working with t-sql, I was not complaining about Microsoft or the lack of any tools. I was merely commenting on the things I admit I do not know, that is part of what I like about what I do, I learn new things every day. I may not have the knowledge that other have, but I have never claimed to be that "gifted" and enjoy learning those things I do not know. Rant about me if you wish, but I never stated anything negative about anyone, or any tool, only that I did not know something, I learned about it by running into a problem, and next time I will know. |

re: Area man blames tools for own lack of knowledge. That blog is pretty funny. What I find more interesting is the people responsible for creating databases do not know what commands that they are running. Instead of generating the code from EM, read up on the commands in BOL. |
